It might sound ridiculous, but am I grateful for laundry. It is an “easy win” and gives me a sense of accomplishment after minimal effort.

If I am quick enough, and I fold it fresh from the dryer, it is still toasty warm. Even as an adult, I still like gathering the still warm clothing to my body and soaking in the heat. Even if I don’t get to it while it’s still warm, laundry is still a win.

Laundry duty allows me to multi-task; By the time I have finished the laundry, I’ve also finished a myriad of other chores. Between loads going in and out of the washer & dryer, I can also knock out sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and other tidying that needs to be done.

I can also listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks at the same time, so my mind and body are both engaged.

Neat piles of laundry are their own success story, and the memories associated with each item of clothing have their own place in the story of my life.

I have a good great life, and folding laundry is a reminder of that. I am grateful.

What chore gives you a sense of gratitude? Please share the task and how your attitude has made it terrific (or at least tolerable) instead of toilsome.
