Spotlight: Arctic Poppy Designs

Back in November 2020, my friend Melissa posted the following on her FB page: “I’m revamping my Etsy store and I need some help! If anyone is wanting a custom/personalized gift for yourself or friends/family, let me know!”

Sometimes, I am a terrible procrastinator, but I remembered looking at her Etsy store, Arctic Poppy Designs, a while ago and loving what I saw.  Her post spurred me to message her immediately. I explained that I had an “idea” of what I wanted (several custom designs), but wasn’t sure what the limitations on her customizations might be.  I messaged her the phrases I wanted and she replied, suggesting a sterling silver bar (1.2” long).  Then I asked if it could also have an image (or a few) and she said she could stamp the front and back (phrase on front, image(s) on the back).

Boom- five days later, a message with images of what the almost-finished products looked like.

I was ecstatic with the way they turned out! Melissa helped me decide on the chain length and shortly thereafter (TADAA!), my four custom creations arrived in the mail. (Friend bonus- she sent an extra one to me as a thank you for my quadruple order— woohoo, I’m WINNING)

Confession: Selfish Sheli wanted to keep ALL of them for myself (even though I received TWO of the same design).  In fact, I hesitated to give them away as gifts because I couldn’t bear to part with them—I loved ALL the custom designs. (I did, finally, but it took me almost three months… and yes, I am a little ashamed of myself for the selfishness).

In summary, my pictures don’t do her jewelry justice, but I hope they give you an idea of her talent and creativity.  Go ahead, buy one (or four) … You’ll be thrilled (and maybe a little addicted) to her custom creations.
