I’m special. You’re special. He’s special. She’s special. They’re special. We’re special.
I have a gift (or two). So do you. (Yes, YOU!) He does, too. And so does she. We all have gifts.
I am fond of this scripture in Roman 12 because it reminds me that we were not an accident in God’s eyes. He made us this way- with gifts placed inside us that we are to share.
Every quirk of personality and idiosyncrasy in us was intentionally designed. No mistakes were made in our genetic blueprint. How we use them, and our gifts, is up to us.
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting some people who have unerring followed a God-ordained path in their lives- they’ve relied on their faith in God to help them discern their gifts and how they are to be used. It’s awesome- and I mean that in every sense of the word, to watch them walk out the path God has set before them. I envy the surety of their steps as I stumble through identifying my gifts and using them in the right way.
What are your gifts? And are you sharing them with the world as you were meant to?
