Today’s Faith Focus is about words having purpose and how we should use them.
I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about how people speak- to me, to others, about me, about others, to situations and about situations…
The questions were simple: Are the people speaking life or death to me, my situation and my circumstances? Do they encourage healthy growth, suggest embracing conflict with love and grace, and support peaceful resolutions and relationships?
Or do they primarily discount, discourage and demean you, the other person, the situation and/or the circumstances?
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

If the people that surround you are not speaking life, love, hope and encouragement into you and your situation, consider that they may be part of the problem.
I’m not advocating for a Pollyanna mentality, but I am reminding you that we tend to adopt the mindset of those to who we are closest (physically and/or emotionally). When their mindset is negative, it can (and often will) adversely impact you.
