6 The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating.

I might be a horrible person, but I have to admit that I laughed out loud at this scripture.   My friend David De Hoog (name and screenshot used with his permission) had posted on Facebook about how funny the Bible could be, noting that this particular scripture had amused him.  In his exact words:

I laughed and laughed and laughed, then decided that it would be a great t-shirt… and hoodie and coffee mug, etc. (You can check out all my Proverbs 18:6 merchandise here. I made ‘clean’ (profanity free) versions, and (for the Christian boundary pushers) ‘not-so-clean’ versions.)

Okay okay, enough with the sales pitch- let’s get back to the scriptures.

Proverbs 18:6.  EVERY translation basically boils down to the same thing – if you get to running your mouth like a fool (bragging, swaggering, etc.), inevitably, no matter how much of a Goliath you might be, a David WILL take you down. (You like the way I worked a bible story into that?)

Regardless of whether you invest in my humorous faith apparel, remember the scripture and watch what you say, how you say it, and who you say it to.
