Guest Post – Rootbound

What a gift to have met Ashlie in my Tuesday morning bible study group. Our group of ladies- who are spread across the country-  has been meeting online weekly for well over a year, with no end in sight. 🙏🏽🎉🙌🏽

In October 2022, most of us met up for several days in Atlanta, forging an even closer connection. It was the first time most of us had ever met in person (though half of our group actually lives in/around the Atlanta area).  While I often tease Ashlie for being so sensitive, I would definitely bring her to a bar fight (ahem, not that I participate in bar fights…).

In short, I’m grateful for all the ways Ashlie has helped me delve into my faith – she takes everyday life experiences and explores them as part of her faith journey.

Below, She shares another lesson- this time about being root-bound.

Good morning 😁 this weekend I looked at my plants and they were all over growing 😳. So here is Faith. (Yes I’m a plant mom and I name my babies 😂)

I got Faith for my birthday last year. She was already out growing her pot a little but no rush to get her a new one. I looked at her Saturday and oh my she was overflowing (yes that spoke to me 😁) but she had no more room to grow.

I got her a new pot and some more dirt. Once I pulled her out of the old pot to put her in the new one, my heart stopped. I saw her roots and was like 😳. Then I was so happy I got her a pot as quickly as I did.

Let me explain: her roots had nowhere to grow. If I had not moved her to a new pot, she would have choked herself to death. 😨😭 I know, right?!

What have you outgrown 😬? What relationship have you outgrown 😱? Why are you choking yourself to death (slowly), trying to stay small/safe 😨?

Holy Spirit smacked me down from my plant. So, I didn’t want to be smacked alone 😂🤣 so umm here you go.

Please know I truly love you all. Some may needed this some didn’t but hold on to it. You may come across someone that does. Again I truly love you all- be blessed ❤️🥰😘
