The last neighborhood labyrinth walk of the season usually fills me with sadness because I don’t know when or where I will get to walk another labyrinth. Fortunately, I knew I would be traveling to Texas in early December. Almost immediately after I had booked my plane ticket, I started compiling a list of labyrinths in each of cities I knew I would be traveling through. Nonetheless, there is always a little heaviness in my heart when I feel like a ‘connection point’ is being disconnected, even when I know it’s only temporary.
Today’s labyrinth lessons are from November 6, 2021 at the Salem Court labyrinth.
Organize your life, not your future
Organization can be precarious. We often organize our lives with specific desired outcomes in mind, yet don’t stop to consider that we are living a life focusing mostly on the future.
Be present, in the now. Plan how you want your life (not your future) to unfold… Your life is happening right now, while your future is ever changing.
I’m struggling to clearly articulate this, so I’ll stop trying to put this thought into words and just hope it makes sense to you, resonates with you, and speaks to your heart and mind in the manner I was trying to convey.
Sometimes going backwards can be considered moving forwards
- Slingshot
- Bow & arrow
- Catapult
- Pitcher (think baseball)
All of those things must go BACKWARD in order to move forward in an effective way.
Know what else (sometimes) needs to go backward in order to move forwards?
You. And Me.
So let’s step back so we can move forward.
