12/7, All Saints Episcopal Church Duncan, OK (9:30 am?)

(10/11/2022 labyrinth lessons – Knowing)

I woke early at our airbnb (Billie’s Place)  in Duncan and went for a run.  It was cool (quite brisk, really) and I underestimated how long it would take for me to warm up as I ran. A few minutes into my run, I decided it was TOO early and TOO cold to run without another layer or two, so I quickly looped back to our airbnb to spend some time writing instead of running..

When Andrew and Mikayla woke, we enjoyed a quick breakfast, packed up, and headed out, stopping at the All Saints Episcopal Church of Duncan, OK so I could walk their labyrinth. Unfortunately, it was more than 1/2 covered in inches thick piles of leaves. Which was really disappointing, since we (meaning me) chose Duncan as part of the route and the halfway point SPECIFICALLY so I could walk the labyrinth.

I tried kicking away the piles of leaves and clearing the path as I walked, but it just wasn’t coming together.

Then, <BOOM>, it hit.  A single revelation.

This labyrinth walk occurred on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021

Location: All Saints Episcopal Church in Duncan, OK at approximately 9:30 a.m.

You already know the path by heart

The current ‘trendy’ acronym is IYKYK (If you know, you know).  Regardless of how you say it, the message was clear:  We need to recognize that sometimes we just “know” the right thing to do.  Whether that’s intuition, gut instinct, or something else entirely, our ‘knowing’ can guide us when logic and reason fail us.

At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
