Thursday, December 9, 2021 found us at Plymouth United Church in Spring, Texas (just outside Houston) after a leisurely drive from the Dallas area that morning.  We arrived in the late afternoon/early evening, sometime around 4:30 p.m., and it was our only labyrinth walk of the day. I  was pleased to find that they had a link referencing their labyrinth on their website and it was easy to find!

Fortunately, it granted me a dual directive, which is just a fancy way of saying I got a double play out of it– a trio of lessons walking in and a trio of lessons walking out.

What follows is part 1 of what I am calling ‘Triumph’:

It’s been a long journey

Sometimes, we just want acknowledgement of our journey; we crave recognition of all the time (and often, distance) it took to get  from Point A to Point B.

And that is what I got there. It felt like I had been in an interminable lifetime of limbo, waiting, and (frankly) hurting over the last 8-10 months and nobody seemed to recognize the weightiness of time like I had. That little bit of recognition was all the validation my soul needed (in that moment, anyway…)

You’re coming to the end

While there may be excitement in the beginning… it’s the finish line that we usually hone in on.

Being told that you are ‘almost there’ or ‘about to cross the finish line’ can be the sweetest words you ever hear, especially in times of trial.

So let me assure you…

You are coming to the end of the challenge(s) you are presently facing.

Persevere!
