I’m fortunate to have this amazing group of friends that stretch back into my childhood years- all the way back to Junior High. And what’s even more amazing is that we’ve all maintained our friendship over the decades (and debacles) in our lives.
Our communication is sporadic. We can go weeks, months or even YEARS without connecting, yet we pick up right where we left off in each others lives – encouraging, helping, listening, teasing and supporting one another. There’s plenty of accountability, straight talk and heart-felt conversations, too. And most of all, FUN. We have a ton of fun when we’re all together. And we do our best to keep up with each others’ adventure and hijinks.
One of the gang is Jason, who is part of a podcast called Not In a Creepy Way, with his two brothers, Eric & Drew.
I giggle whenever I read their podcast description:
“Eric, his brothers, and his friends discuss movies, television, music, and whatever else tickles our fancy – but not in a creepy way.”
Not In a Creepy Way is Siskel & Ebert style, with each of the brothers weighing in with their thoughts and opinions on the chosen movie. And fortunately, they are indiscriminate…. discussing movies from various eras and genres.
And they aren’t afraid to follow the random rabbit trail discussion topic taht come up during their movie discussions.
Sometimes, its hard to know what’s more fun- listening to them break down a movie and discuss the characters, actors and the plot, or whether their rabbit trail discussions, which bear some pretty interesting fruit are the most fun.
Sometimes its only two of the three brothers, and sometimes they have guest appearances from family and friends (like me!).
I had a blast discussing one of my favorite movies, The Joneses, which was part of episode #438 (yeah, a shameless plug to get you to listen to my guest appearance….. 😬🤷🏽♀️).
However, if you want to find another episode that’s more up your alley, consider these episodes of Not In a creepy Way:
(Note: I picked these because they are all movies I found enjoyable or intriguing or both.)
If you loved it as much as I do (and I hope you will), here are other ways to connect with Not In A Creepy Way:
