I want to introduce you to my friend, Renee Morhain.
Renee is a talented artist who lives in Anchorage, AK. We met through work, and became friends and mentors/mentees (and vice versa) through the Alaska USA Toastmasters Club. While Renee would happily tell you that I was a mentor (and friend) to her in our Toastmasters cub, she has never really recognized the profound impact she had on me as a result of a conversation (and very important lesson) she (unknowingly) taught me about perception and judgment.
I’ll talk about that in a future post, because today I just want to focus on a different gift she shares– her passion and love of art.
Above all things, she loves to help people discover what they can achieve in art with a little guidance. She says, “People can do more that they think.”
Renee teaches group classes, paint classes, private lessons and other events. She offers both kids’ classes and adult classes through Blaine’s Art Supply.
I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and experience one of Renee’s amazing classes. However, if making art isn’t on your radar, then I encourage you to support this talented local artist who has a heart of gold.
From her website:
Renee Morhain is an artist who is very inspired by nature. She was born and raised in Alaska
She enjoys spending time at her family’s cabin on Moose Creek in Trapper Creek, Alaska. There she develops many of her painting ideas, inspired by the surrounding pristine beauty.
Renee has a deep passion to encourage others to achieve their artistic goals. She accomplishes this through one on one sessions with interested parties. In addition, she also holds classes to teach young children and adults. Art is transformative for individuals and restorative for communities.
